It is even documented on the title as actual mileage. Of the 68656 1972 Camaros built in 1972 only 6562 Super Sports were produced and only 970 of those units were equipped with the LS3 396 engine. The actual cubic inches is 402. The engine code on the flat boss reads T1028CTB along with the last eight digits of the VIN (2N134435). The drivetrain is completed with a 400 Turbo transmission and a 12 bolt positraction rear. The rarity of this car speaks for itself. This car spent more time in garages than on the road. The title I have for this car is a 2002 title and it reads 21924 miles. Only 67 miles have been driven on this car in the last 10 years ! This car was further documented with the fender tag which shows a paint code of 68B (midnight bronze) and an interior trim code of 775 ( Black vinyl ) The fender tag also shows Z27 (SS) and LS3 396 Engine. 1972 was the last year of the super sport option for the 2nd generation camaros. There was a limited production of 1972 Camaros due to a 174 day strike at the Norwood Ohio plant. The LS3 cars were not even admitted to California in any form. Since the car was pretty much purchased exactly as you see it with the exception of a brand new custom dual exhaust system this summary is based solely on complete physical inspection and documentation. The car appears to have had one repaint in the correct color. The engine was updated with headers chrome valve covers and an Edelbrock carburetor. The original parts were retained and they go with the car. The interior of the car is 100% original with no rips or cracks. It runs and drives great and looks fantastic. It is turn key drive and enjoy immediately. The selling price is actually lower than many of the small block camaros I saw when I did a market comparison so a real car guy can afford it. I was unable to even find another big block 72 SS for sale at the present time. The only non working item is the factory am/fm radio.
